LO3 - Conventions of the genre

  • Both mastheads are displayed at the top of the page this helps them to be recognised
  • I chose to use my certain background image as it fits in with the theme of sheffield and genre indie
  • I used similar bright colours on my front cover this helps the mast head and the cover lines stand out and making them easier to read
  • I have used a similar sized font for my main cover story this helps it be the most noticeable story on the front cover

  • I have used a large font for the title of contents page in order to let the reader know what page they are currently on
  • I have used images related to the articles shown on the page that also relate to the genre of indie and the theme of sheffield
  • I have given a brief description for the articles within the magazine in order to entice the reader into carrying on to read
  • I have used larger images for the main articles in order to draw attention to them

  • I have used a large central image for my intro page in order to make the model the clear subject for the page and the following article
  • I have used a similar sized font for the title in order for the reader to be able to immediately identify what the article is about
  • Both models are not looking at the camera and are near central to the page

  • I have followed the conventions of my genre by using images related to my article
  • I have layered my article in columns as i believe this helps to keep the magazine looking professional
  • I have used a similar style and size of font for my article as this helps keep the article looking professional while allowing a lot of information to be displayed for the reader
